 Soul Retrieval

I am going to try to describe this form of healing as accurately as possible. Once again, I must warn that I have made this technique my own and that I practice it to suite my way of healing and life.

Can we really lose our soul or more to the point, pieces of our soul? Yes, we do often only parts of it, because of traumatic experiences. Soul Retrieval is a natural approach to healing. It has been a powerful technique for thousands of years. In the tradition of natural healing, illness was an indication that the soul or parts thereof had vacated the body.

Ancient healers knew that, and they practised a powerful technique to retrieve a person's lost soul parts through a visionary journey to dimensions outside of this reality. The healer journeyed into a dimension beyond the third to retrieve the soul and return it to the person, restoring wholeness and health. It is also true to say it is an important contribution to the concept of natural healing.

A soul splinters when you are desperately ill or not in a position to face the trauma. This is similar to psychological blockage or selective amnesia, your body or sub-conscious can hide or block an incident because it too much for you too accept and deal with at the time of it occurring.  Often people who have such blockages remember little bits and are not sure if it is reality or dreams.

Consultation with psychologists or hypnotists will reveal the truth of the ‘dreams’ and the person will have to work through the event as much as with the soul retrieval.  The only difference is that with a soul retrieval, you do not have the harsh reality or memory, you do however have the emotions which was relevant of that moment.

Splintering seems to be a common condition stemming from the many perceived traumatic situations in life, ranging from minor to severe, real or imagined. The emotional trauma caused by these conditions can initiate dissociation and splitting of the consciousness as a coping mechanism. The percentage of splintering can range from minor to total. A lack of childhood memory is a sure sign a soul part is gone.

When we suffer a physical or emotional trauma, a part of this life force leaves our body, and we undergo what is called partial soul loss. The cause of not remembering incidents is soul loss. Sometimes, soul loss occurs not because of any specific trauma or soul theft, but through an accumulation of stress and frustration experienced in daily living.  The soul part has left with the memory. This is very common in the modern world, as certain societies tend to be out of touch with the feelings of the developing child, especially in the name of education.

Occasionally, someone "steals" a part of our soul by loving us too possessively or by drawing too much of our vital energy to compensate for their own lack of it. This phenomenon is akin to psychic vampirism and yes, it is not only probable but happens more than anyone knows.  Very often, the stealing of the life force is not intentional, it happens when a loved one has died and has not moved on or into the light. This earthbound, hangs around us, with good intentions but causes more harm than is known to him or to the living person.

The living person’s energy is depleted to nourish the earthbound and this may cause illness and distress. You often hear people say with pride, that they can feel the loved ones protecting them or guiding them.  It may be true that you feel the presence of a deceased loved one or stranger for that matter, who has lodged to your for some reason or another. Although the thought is comforting to you the truth of the matter is that this earthbound now exists on your energy, thus inadvertently stealing splinters of your soul.

The problem is that the detached soul part does not always return of its own accord. Frequently it stays apart indefinitely, leaving the person in a weakened and dispirited condition.

Symptoms of soul loss may include chronic and immune deficiency illnesses, coma, addiction, chronic depression, memory loss, or a sense of alienation from people and life in general. The soul splinter that flees may be the part of us that feels joy, optimism or love, and without it, we simply cannot be happy or whole.

It is important to understand what is meant by soul in the natural healer’s context. Soul is defined as vital life energy or essence that animates our body and mind. It dwells inside us but has the ability to move out and exist in other dimensions, during our lifetime and beyond. Such as in astral travel, astral projection and vision quests.

When I do a Soul Retrieval - the aim is to achieve maximum patient participation, guiding them gently in meditation or hypnosis to find the soul parts, inspect and help heal the trauma that caused the soul part to leave in the first place. This is an exceptionally gentle method and has been practised for centuries in different cultures worldwide; this method has been adapted for modern use and successfully used by numerous natural healers.

To do a soul retrieval, I go on a visionary journey to an outer dimensional reality (a domain beyond the three-dimensional world). Enlisting the help of my animal totem, or animal guardian spirit, my healing angels and the protection of St Michael and his angels, I track down the missing soul parts (often there is more than one) and return them to the patient.

Usually, the soul parts appear in human form, though occasionally they are felt simply as energy fields. The settings in which they appear regularly contain symbolic or literal information about the patient’s condition.

I help integrate these lost soul splinters, using the reality of soul parts, and their reality is that they are the age they think they still are, with the emotion they are feeling, and located in whatever they see, they are located. I embrace and welcome the soul parts and, return to reality, I blow them into the patient’s heart and head. This is the straightforward method, where no complications exist with the splinter, which may have attached somewhere, or to someone else. (I discuss complicated soul splinters in more detail a little later.)

For absent patients, the soul parts can be blown in their geographic direction, or breathed into a quartz crystal I have set up in a grid on my altar.  (A Reiki, crystal and colour healing grid, is often used for distant healing, I will make a point of discussing this procedure in another newsletter.)

Bodies can function as long as the silver cord of the soul or soul splinters maintain its connection, even if there is total evacuation of the splinters. There can be any number of separate splinters for different explanations and reasons. Each splinter maintains a connection with the main consciousness by a thread, a fibre of the silver cord that attaches the soul to the body.

The result of a retrieval is most often a dramatic event, but always patients feel that it brings about positive change in their life.

Analysis of splintering is straightforward. Nearly everyone who has suffered trauma has some form and degree of this condition. No one symptom is evidence, though a combination of symptoms may be symptomatic. The verbal communication of the patient will describe the condition of splintering.

A person may describe the experience of feeling dissociated, ungrounded, detached, disengaged, confused, disconnected or feeling like they are not in their body. Their eyes may appear expressionless. Their senses may seem suppressed; a person may sleep a lot and feel lethargic, apathetic toward life. They may feel like they are not at home, that they are not all there, as if something is "missing." There is a feeling of emptiness, of having no heart, a sense of emptiness prevails, and there is a big hole inside.

Often when I am doing Past Life / Other Life regression work with patients we hit upon Soul Loss or when the patient is in an altered state of consciousness (hypnosis) and scans their body, they may discover dark or shadowy spots, voids, holes, and empty places. These are the spaces left by the splintering.

If this occurs and it is appropriate, I look for the threads that lead out from the spaces. When these threads are found some will appear darker, some lighter. In all cases of splintering and separation, the silver thread connection remains, and it is the link that makes the recovery process possible. Total evacuation of the splinters can result in coma. It also opens the way to total possession by an intrusive spirit.

The splinters continue to be connected to each other by the silver threads, even after the being leaves the physical body in death, when the silver cord is detached. A splinter can become partially dislodged and remain connected to the body.

A splinter can separate and follow the person like a balloon on a string. It can remain in some distant location or structure, it can also attach to another living person. A splinter of the mind of a living person can be attached to one or more other living persons. The condition of splintering is not healed by death of the splintered person. The newly deceased spirit, the discarnate entity, is also splintered. This splintered entity can then attach to still another living person. Thus, a discarnate entity can be attached to two or more living individuals.

Another aspect of this situation provides an interesting twist to the classic condition of spirit possession in which a living person is considered to be influenced by the spirit of a deceased person. If the living mind splinter remains connected to the spirit of the newly deceased person, then a deceased spirit is being possessed by the mind of a living person.

The trauma, which led to the splintering, is processed by the mental, emotional and physical bodies (the subtle bodies) as is the case for any traumatic event. However, the traumatic incident, which originally caused splintering, might be located in another space, time or lifetime. In addition, the splinter can literally be floating free or clinging to a location or structure on earth in the present time, even though the event occurred in another era. A child can also be born with the condition of splintering.

Black Magic, spells, hexes and curses can cause a splintering of the operator, witch or sorcerer. Their splinter can remain with the victim of the magic spell or curse, even though the practitioner may be deceased. There is always dark energy involved in this sort of intrusive activity.

The evil entities must be released appropriately and the splinter sent to the Light or if the practitioner is still living, after a release of the attached dark entities is completed, the splinter is sent back to the person. I advise against sending any evil back to where it originated as it can become a tit for tat game.

Instead, I destroy the dark and evil energies which surround the curse, hex or spell and replace it with love.  The reason for this is twofold, on is very selfish, in case the original practitioner is still available, she / he may wish to return it to me, this way I receive love and no evil.  The second reason being that I do not play with evil and if I am confronted with it, I will destroy it immediately.

As with all Soul retrievals, when the conflict resolution is complete through healing, the splinter is invited back into the present moment. It is welcomed into the body wherever it belongs, sometimes into the empty hole inside, often into the heart or one of the Chakras.

The patient will report a feeling of warmth, peace, and a pleasant new sense of wholeness. A lost soul part believes it is the person, so during the healing and integration one must ask it only questions that would invite integration, rather than questions that would consider separation. Soul parts must be handled by very gentle invitation and negotiation.

A question to ask is "How would your life have to change for you to be present and honour the qualities of this part of yourself?" If a person lost a major part of self at the age of 2 years, and wanted to continue to look at life in the same old way, and not change any practices, that part will not return.

Children look at things very differently and they can be very discriminating. It is also necessary to run a traumatic incident from multiple perspectives in order to get a full healing of the situation and balance. When a soul part is reluctant to integrate it may be necessary to negotiate with it or perhaps all you need to do is ask the very gentle question "At that time, did part of you leave?” followed by a very helpful invitation to re-integrate.

Ideally, you would weave an artistic balance between the pictures where truth concerning incidents is clarified, going on to experiencing the feelings, and then inviting `Presence` with the patient. It matters little whether the incident run is present life, past life, or imaginary. What is important is what is experienced parallels a solidity in the body's electrical field to the degree that the field is simultaneously healed. That alone allows other people to see you, as you are, your soul to resonate with your body and shine through, and the body's energy field to act as a resonating device to focus you purely into this reality.

When the soul part returns, the memories return with it. There can be quite some emotional pain during the healing and to a lesser extent in the integration period afterwards, as some definite ability to feel returns with each soul part. Things the patient could not feel before have now come to the surface.

By retrieving this splinter, you are restoring the pain of that time and you will have to accept and acknowledge the pain. Once the soul splinter has been restored to you, you will experience not merely the pain and trauma of the time in question, but will exhibit characteristics of the person you were at that age.

For example, if you were six years old and you were sexually molested, the return of the splinter will take you back to a six year old child, until your brain and body has come to terms with the reinstatement of the splinter of the soul. You will want to play with your dolls, suck lollipops etc.

The main factors determining the speed of result in clearing are clarity and sincerity of the therapist, and the presence and attention of the patient, the soul splinter needs to feel welcome and wanted, remember it feels human and has human emotions and reactions.

You do not engage in soul retrieval as a favourite pursuit or for the fun of it, scoring how many parts you can find. Commonly you want only to work with a couple of major parts that are disconnected and lost from one another. This may take several sessions though!

Some other time in your life when what was already found has been well integrated, perhaps months later; you might need one more session to find another soul part to help with the complete process. Of course if other traumatic occurrences happen in the future then these too can be handled in this way.

Soul retrieval as discussed here does not usually even concern a very high level of consciousness. It concerns your capacity to feel and create as a human being; only applying to those levels of consciousness, which respond to your present life. The most important basic in spiritual development is wholeness at "lower" or human levels.

Without that wholeness, there is a constant void and emptiness waiting to be filled by something, so no spiritual work or input at "higher" levels will shine through properly. There is so much more warmth in the face and sparkle in the eyes of a person who has most of their soul present.

A whole person can be thought of as a hologram in the sense that each part contains the whole. Each cell, both physical and spiritual contains the codes that produce the whole.

Once you finally, get used to living in the present with your feelings of child and adult, it's very nice being alive – being whole!!  The term holistic stems from the word wholeness, meaning completeness, totality of body, mind and spirit.

Then you can operate in the `Present Time`. The `Present Time` is hardly seen, and it is right Now!
